Right Now

Ida is blustering about my windows grey and cozy.

The dishwasher is humming and clanking away in my sparkling kitchen.* Piles of clothes are stacked up neat-- like soldiers awaiting their marching orders to distant drawers.

Fresh cup in my hand, computer in my lap. Kids are snuggled away in naptime bliss. Now, I’m watching this.

*This is such a momentous achievement for me I felt I had to celebrate.

Oh, I'm glad you reminded me of that movie. My kitchen is also clean and laundry going, but only two kids napping so far...

I don't know if you meant this post as a poem, but it sounds like one. I really appreciate how you are grateful for the little things.
